Frank Bergman<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n Acclaimed artist and sculptor Jackie Ferrara has been euthanized despite reportedly being in \u201cgood health.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n Ferrara is the latest celebrity to be killed by \u201cassisted suicide,\u201d continuing the disturbing trend of liberal media outlets glamorizing what should be treated as a tragedy, not a fashionable lifestyle choice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Ferrara was killed via lethal injection on October 22 at age 95.<\/p>\n\n\n\n By all accounts, Ferrara was in \u201cgood health.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n She simply decided that she was \u201cready to go,\u201d and didn\u2019t want to \u201cdepend on anybody.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cI don\u2019t want a housekeeper,\u201d she told<\/a> The New York Times shortly before her death.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cI never wanted anybody.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cI was married three times.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cThat\u2019s enough,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Because Ferrara was healthy, she did not qualify for \u201cassisted suicide\u201d anywhere in the United States.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Instead, she traveled to Pegasos in Basel, Switzerland, a well-known suicide clinic, where she was euthanized by lethal injection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Ferrara\u2019s work is featured in the Museum of Modern Art, and her death was quickly praised by liberal media outlets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n People magazine confirmed<\/a> her death through her estate and legacy advisor, Tina Hejtmanek.<\/p>\n\n\n\n But the tone of the coverage raised alarms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The publication even used the Canadian acronym \u201cMAiD\u201d (Medical Assistance in Dying), a euphemism designed to sanitize the word \u201csuicide.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cAssisted suicide\u201d sounds dramatic, while \u201cMAiD\u201d does not.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Media\u2019s \u201cSoft Language\u201d and the Push to Normalize Death<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n The use of gentle language isn\u2019t accidental.<\/p>\n\n\n\n It\u2019s part of a growing cultural campaign<\/a> to mainstream euthanasia, particularly through the deaths of beloved public figures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Just weeks before Ferrara\u2019s death, on September 23, Holocaust survivor Ruth Posner and her husband<\/a> were both euthanized at the same Swiss clinic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Posner, who survived Treblinka and went on to become an actress, dancer, and memoirist, was widely celebrated by the press for her decision, not mourned for her death.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The coverage of such deaths seems like a deliberate attempt to mainstream and glamorize death by lethal injection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n And in Canada, children\u2019s author Robert Munsch<\/a>, famous for The Paper Bag Princess and Love You Forever, told<\/a> The New York Times that he had been approved for euthanasia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n He will be killed by the Canadian government due to \u201cmental decline.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n Munsch stated that he wants to die before dementia makes him \u201ca lump\u201d his wife must \u201cbe stuck with.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n He is currently in good health, however.<\/p>\n\n\n\n A Chilling Double Standard<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n The same media that mourned the suicide of Anthony Bourdain in 2018, calling it a \u201ctragedy,\u201d now treats euthanasia as \u201cempowering\u201d or \u201cdignified.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n However, if Ferrara, Munsch, and Posner were found hanging from a rope, their deaths would be recognized as tragedies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n But once doctors or bureaucrats are involved, the moral compass shifts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n When the government begins euthanizing people with lethal injections, their deaths are suddenly praised as a form of \u201chealthcare\u201d rather than suicide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n A Dangerous Glamorization of Death<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n While suicide was once treated as a shocking moral failure, it is now marketed as compassion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Yet behind the soft language and \u201cbeautiful death\u201d headlines lies something much darker: a cultural campaign that devalues life<\/a> itself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n When governments and suicide clinics become arbiters of who lives and who dies, even among the healthy, society crosses a moral line that can never be uncrossed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The growing acceptance of euthanasia and assisted suicide is not compassion; it\u2019s a slow, clinical erasure of the sanctity of human life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
